I'm scared... i kinda feel older.
but then i think about it and i like it

I'm back
at looong last.
not that anybody was eager to read my rants, nor that i was eager to write down my random thoughts regarding technology, filosophy nor anything, but still...

since my last post not much has happened. still working in the same crappy SAP Channel Partner here in Spain. Hopefully things will change, and i'll be able to get a job i can enjoy.

meanwhile, since my commitment towards my company is soooo low, i decided to join the Army Reserve/National Guard (?) (Reservista Voluntario here in Spain). As an officer in the Ejercito de Tierra (Ground Forces).

I'd have never joined any other branch of the armed forces (neither navy nor airforce)... and that stopped me from joining the Reserve 6 months ago... but after all, once an Infantryman, always an Infantryman ;-)

you'll wonder why am i willing to join an organization with such a terrible recent background (after all the government just retired the Spanish troops from Irak) but that's something I'll try to explain, adding some more posts later...

i checked technosophy in www.googlism.com
funny i found Terry Alden had www.technosophy.com and says the word technosophy was coined by him...
my self description in researchtriangle in geocities saying i was a "young technosopher" has been long deleted (by 1996/98?). i coined that (technosopher) along with technosophy in 1994, somehow translating into english the spanish word "tecnosofĂa"... a word a teacher (Luis Joyanes) at my University induced me (and perhaps others in my classroom too) to "coin", by saying he was getting "too much techno-filosopher" in one of his lectures.

whatever... funny too that a guy called Alexander Bradley considered Technosophy a too crappy name for his own blog THE DIGITAL WATCH (http://bloggingnetwork.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/digitalwatch/)
I think perhaps i like crappy names!!! ;-)

If TiVo Thinks You Are Gay, Here's How to Set It Straight

great article... regarding (somehow) to AI's, customerDB's privacy, and also human behaviour.

I got Zodi to read this blog. he started to laugh at all the matrix-cyberspace-etc stuff... we both agreed i need more sleep and less time at work... we also agreed this is not "only" matrix-cyberspace-etc stuff, but also (and there is where i aim) INDUSTRY STANDARDS.
btw, to some extent, telnet is the closest thing to my concept of "interface"... have a look at ztalker.netpower.no port 3278, since (not counting it has been "neutered" and doesnt allow access to resources such as hd or ram) it's the simplest yet most "conceptually accurate" one i know.

conclusion: i havent found anybody seemingly developing it. perhaps this is one of "negroponte's switches"... rather than having us humans "inmersed" in a virtual reality, we'll tend to have machines that "project themselves" into our world ("real virtuality"? ;-) )
Let's face it. a "johny mnemonic-like" interface looks nice, but we are heading towards more and more "microsoft internet explorer"(TM) interfaces

mmm... i dont think so. i think W.Gibson's cyberspace (my concept of cyberspace) must have influence on the "atoms world"
something like "i enter cyberspace, access my house through the interface and start the heating, turn on the lights and program the "TV Signal Recording Gadget" "
so everquest isnt cyberspace, even if it has an "avatar", day/night, areas to explore, things/people to interact with, money/economy and so on.

is it everquest?

So... now we have all this bandwidth (where we can have it) where's "cyberspace"/"matrix"/"VR"?
